Greed and passion shape the history of mining. Greed for ores that has driven us into the mountains for many millennia. Wealth and power, but also the exploitation of nature and people are its consequences. We feel passion because mining has merged with the life, society and culture of the region. It is the driving force for inventions, the starting point of sciences, identity and traditions.
